$100 - $500 fees for guests found smoking in rooms
Sunday, January 17, 2010 at 4:04PM In addition to our motel wide "No Smoking" policy, any guest that is found to have been smoking inside of a room (this includes standing inside of the open door of a room while holding the cigarette, cigar or pipe outside of the room), WILL be charged a fee from $100 to as high as $500 directly to their credit card after their stay and will not be allowed to rent rooms from the motel again in the future. If no credit card is on file, the guest will be billed to the address listed on the guests Drivers License or State ID and a police report will be filed.
This policy has been implemented due to a state-wide law going into effect on May 1st of 2010 (the law has been signed and fully approved) that prohibits smoking of tobacco products in work places. Each guest room of the motel is, by this law, considered a "work place" due to our housekeeping staff having to enter the rooms and clean them.
