The Monarch Motel would like to extend an offer to anyone looking for a room between and including the dates of March 21th 2010 and September 20th 2010.

If you book a room for any length for any of the dates within the above range (Spring and Summer dates) BEFORE March 21th 2010, you will receive the room for the Winter rates (which can currently be viewed in the right-hand sidebar a little ways down the page.

Example: You would like to book a 1-Bed room for July 1st (thursday) with a checkout date of July 5th 2010 (monday, 4 total nights).  If you book before March 21st, the room rate will be $120 plus tax (the winter rate).  If you book the room on or after March 21st, the total rate would be $160 plus tax (the summer rate).

Bulk Weekend Discounts

The Monarch Motel offers discounted rates for Weekday rentals (Sunday nights to Thursday night), with higher rates on the weekends.  However, if you book 4 or more nights and any of those nights lands on a Friday and/or Saturday, you will receive those Weekend nights for the same rate as the Weekday.

The "Bulk Weekend Discount" CAN be combined with the "Pre-Booking Bonanza".

Note: Please be aware that any requests for Early Check-Outs and refunds of unused nights will be based on the "normal nightly rates".  This is to prevent guests from booking (example), Friday to Tuesday night, early check out Sunday morning and getting the 2 weekend nights for the daily rate.

Looking thru our traffic stats, we are noticing a large number of users of Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 coming to our website.

Please be aware that Microsoft has released Internet Explorer 7 and 8, and highly recommends upgrading to the latest version of their browser.  Running the latest version increases the security of your computer overall, as Internet Explorer 6 has many security flaws that can allow for malicious software to be installed without warning.

The Monarch Motel recommends download Microsoft's free upgrade to Internet Explorer 7 or 8 as soon as possible.  This can be done by going to Microsoft's Internet Explorer website (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/internet-explorer/default.aspx) and following the install instructions.

If you are a more savvy computer user, you could also try one of the free alternatives to Internet Explorer, such as Mozilla's FireFox, Apple Safari, or Google Chrome.

Motel WiFi

The Monarch Motel provides Wireless Internet access via a Charter Communications 10 MegaBit internet connection.  While this speed may not mean much to some, if you happen to be a fan of YouTube, Netflix, or other online video services, out internet connection is fully capable of handling these services should you choose to use them.

Our WiFi uses WPA2-based encryption, as well as 802.11n/g for rooms 1-8, and 802.11g for rooms 9-12.  Because of this, older wireless devices such as the original Nintendo DS, original Nintendo DS Lite and older model PDAs will not be able to access our network.  Newer devices, such as WiFi enabled BlackBerrys, iPhones, the iPod Touch, Nintendo DSi, PlayStation Portable (all models) and video game consoles with WiFi support will have no trouble accessing our network.

Computers, both desktop and laptop alike, will also be able to access our WiFi network, so long as your system supports the above encryption and protocols.  This information can be found on the website of your computer's manufacturer.

We do not offer an "open" WiFi, meaning that you must use a password to connect to it.  At anytime during your stay you may request the password to our network.  We occasionally change the password to our WiFi to help in keeping it a "current guest only" service.  If at any time during your stay you experience issues with connecting to the WiFi, please contact the Office and we will gladly assist you in connecting.

Lastly, The Monarch Motel uses a third-party service to assist in blocking malicious websites that could damage your computer if viewed, as well as the blocking of adult-themed websites (specifically porn sites).  This preventative measure, however, is not 100% accurate.  Please take care when browsing the internet, and always make sure that the website you are viewing is a trusted one.

• Sunday thru Thursday Nights: $25.00 + tax per night
• Friday and Saturday Nights: $35.00 + tax per night

Two Bed Room (1 Queen, 1 Full)

• Sunday thru Thursday Nights: $35.00 + tax per night
• Friday and Saturday Nights: $45.00 + tax per night

These rate changes will go in effect for ANY pre-registrations where the registered dates are September 21st 2009 to March 20th 2010.

As of September 1st 2009, ALL rooms at the Monarch Motel will be non-smoking.

Any guests with reservations booked before September 1st 2009 that requested a Smoking room will still be allowed to smoke in that room for their specific stay.

In addition, guests that have been discovered to be smoking in a non-smoking room as of September 1st 2009 and into the future may be charged an additional $5.00 during any of their future stays.

The Monarch Motel provides ash trays upon request and pots of sand are available outside of each room for guests to use.

Small Pets Fee

Due to a number of factors, any guests wishing to bring their small pets with them will be charged an additional $5 per pet.  This fee is for cleaning purposes and is non-refundable.

Please keep in mind that not every section of this new website is finished.  Over the next week I will be added photos of some of the rooms, a detailed Policy page, additional links to the many attractions around the Straits Area as well as a calendar of events.

In addition to the new website, we also have a new email address.  Please change your contact lists to make note that the info@monarchmotel.com address will no longer work and will instead bounce back a mail server error.  The new address is monarchmotel@gmail.com.
